Spring 2025 Tisch Library Laptop Loan Agreement

Students currently enrolled in a degree program at Tufts University may borrow Tisch Library laptops and accessories. Each student must present their own valid Tufts ID to borrow a laptop. All laptops come with a charger and carrying case.

Laptops are loaned to users for 4 days or 4 hours depending on the device and there are no renewals. All users are responsible for replacement fees for lost, stolen, damaged, or unreturned Tisch Library materials and equipment, including laptops and accessories. Unresolved charges are forwarded to the user’s bursar account.

All users are expected to comply with the Tufts University Information Technology Responsible Use Policy.

If a user is found to be in violation of this laptop loan agreement, staff have the right to enforce a block on their account, which will bar them from borrowing books, course reserves, and other technology items. Additionally, if a laptop is not returned and defaults to lost status, a lost item replacement fine of $1,807 will be placed on the student's account. This fine will be waived when the laptop and charger are returned. To resolve the block, the user must return the items and schedule a one-on-one meeting with the designated Tisch Library staff.

In the event that a borrowed laptop is lost, stolen, or damaged, you must notify Tisch Library staff as soon as possible in order to work out a route to replacement or repair the item and avoid fines or blocks on your account. Damage repair costs are subject to TTS Repair Center pricing.

I understand and agree to the Tisch Library lending policies for laptops and accessories. I will respect library materials according to the Tufts University Information Technology Responsible Use Policy. I understand that laptops loan for 4 days or 4 hours and failure to return overdue items will result in a $1,807 replacement fine added to my Tisch Library account. I understand any damage to a borrowed laptop may result in a repair cost.
