Dear Colleague;

We are conducting a research survey to describe the impact of COVID-19 on small animal veterinarians in the United States.

Participation is voluntary and you may stop participating at any time with no penalty by simply exiting the survey.  The survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete. There are no direct risks and no benefit to you or incentive for participation. It is possible participants may experience mild emotional distress while recalling their experience during the pandemic if it has been traumatic for them. Participants can choose to stop the survey at any time by exiting the link with no penalty. You will be asked to identify your zip code and demographic information, but no personal data will be collected.

The purpose of this research is to describe, compare, and understand the financial, personal, and professional impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on small animal veterinarians in the United States. Results will be analyzed across race, gender, and familial differences with an emphasis on groups that have been inequitably affected by the social and economic challenges of the pandemic.

The study has been reviewed by the Tufts Social, Behavioral and Educational Research IRB.  An Institutional Review Board (“IRB”) is overseeing this research. An IRB is a group of people who perform independent review of research studies to ensure the rights and welfare of participants are protected.  If you have questions about your rights or wish to speak with someone other than the research team, you may contact:
