ABOUT THE METCALF LIVING AND LEARNING COMMUNITY
Are you a student looking for stimulating discussion? Are you concerned
about current affairs in politics, ethics, or education? Do you wonder what
Tufts faculty members are doing on the local and national scene to effect
changes? Or, are you looking for advice about what YOU might do to make a
difference in these areas? The Metcalf Living & Learning Program continues
to attract students who are looking for dialogue and increased faculty
interaction. Residents living in Metcalf will have regular opportunities to
engage Tufts’ faculty and each other in a casual yet intellectual atmosphere. Your
choice to join the Living & Learning Community indicates your willingness
to participate in the planning and implementation that makes this living
experience unique. Preferences will be given to students who have participated
in the Metcalf Living & Learning Program in the past. The Resident
Assistants and the Scholar-in-Residence will invite you to take an active role
in the development of the year’s calendar of events.
We value your commitment and involvement in the Metcalf Living &
Learning Program. In order to qualify to live in Metcalf, residents must be
involved in 3 programs per semester for a total of 6 per year.
A NOTE ON ROOMMATES
All residents who gain residency in Metcalf through
the lottery must have completed an application. No student may be “pulled in”
as a roommate if they have not completed an application.
